Vintage Electronics Specialists

Vintage Electronics specialists here in the UK are becoming harder and harder to find.
If anyone knows of decent repair specialists in this field up and down our country, please share their details with us all here.

I can start the ball rolling by thoroughly recommending one of these in the north west.

The trading name for this specialist is P.R. Audio and is based in Leigh in Lancashire.
I sent my Beaulieu here a while back now and they did a fabulous job in diagnosing and repairing an amplifier fault caused mainly through dry joints.
The impressive part for me is the speed in which they diagnosed the fault, less than a few hours after dropping the machine off with them.
Since the work was done the unit has functioned perfectly.

Here is a link for anyone wishing to use the service and it really would be superb if others can provide similar links through their experiences throughout the country.
This way we would have a nationwide A-Z of electronic repair specialists to hopefully serve all our UK collectors.
Better still why not include oversees specialists!

Bill is indeed excellent as you say Hugh. He did help me out with the Beaulieu initially however by Bills own admission in very recent times, he really doesn't want the stress these days of challenging models that he doesn't necessarily have the same spare parts inventory and back up data etc as he has for the Elmo models.

Bill is an expert with Elmo's and has just about every spare part you could ever need for your projectors, therefore it's these models he tends to solely concentrate his efforts on nowadays.

Hopefully more repair and especially electronics specialists will surface on here soon to give us a more national and better still, international reflection of just who is out there for us all in 2015 when things go wrong.

So far we have the North West for electronic servicing covered and the South of the country covered for Elmo repairs.

I will just throw a Midlands specialist in the hat next,a Mr Kevin Brown.
His trading name is Cine Repairs and Kevin services nearly all makes and models to an excellent standard from all accounts.
Here is his website:http://cine-repairs.co.uk/

Yes thank you Robert, let's not forget our other major projector repair guy, Mr john White.

He will fix any make and model but John isn't too big with electronic issues and sometimes in the past, hand those issues over to Bill.
A good man to have on hand for spares and mechanical breakdowns / General electrical.

There was a useful site called Radiocraft, that listed a repairer in Oxfordshire, but the site has closed, owner retired, also gave details of film sellers.
