Your Film Club

To my knowledge, there is not a film club even remotely close to me, but I'd be interested in hearing about yours. Details such as how many members you have, how often you get together, what dictates which films are shown, etc. I know Vidar is part of one, but didn't know if anyone else was. BTW Vidar, I'd like to hear about yours too.

We are not many. It's usually a core of five friends. We have meetings two or three times a month. If I get my cinrma some day, I think we'd have ten or so attending. Just not room for more than 5-7. Today is our 51st meeting with The African Queen as main feature. Will do some digests also. Soon time to get ready :-)

Just go ahead, invite three or four friends and try

I use to run a Film Club based at my house away back in the late 1970s.
Members would choose and agree on the films they wanted to see.
They helped pay for the Film Hire charge if any and made a small donation towards the cost of projection lamps.
That way the costs never came out of my own personal finances and I still had the pleasure of showing and watching
films at home.
We showed such films as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and others that were banned from Cinema showings here in the UK.
Happy times !

Vidar and me are also members of the Norwegian Film Collectors Club. We use to have 5-6 meetings a year. We watch films, sell film related stuff and have an auction. Sometimes we visit film conventions.

At least you are willing to admit it Vidar! (LOL!) Just kidding! I don't know that I could sell anything either. It takes too much searching and effort for me to let anything go.
